The latest Meta Quest 3s are out which mushroom after the Meta Quest 3 but bring lower price as the added benefit.
This week, MetaConnect unveiled the latest Meta Quest 3S which Meta quickly confirmed would cater to the same mixed reality capabilities alongside fast performance but at a lower price point.

Starting at just $299.99 USD, Quest 3S is the best headset for those new to mixed reality and immersive experiences, or who might have been waiting for a low-cost upgrade from Quest and Quest 2, Meta confirmed.
From multi-tasking abilities to watching your favourite show on a big screen, the latest Quest 3S promises to bring reach to users – in terms of price. The Quest 3 arrived in the market to set a standard, and while that point may have opened new markets for Meta, the risk may have resulted in a different Meta Quest arriving months after the flagship. The Quest 3 brought in full-color passthrough capabilities, while unlocking an entirely new genre of experiences, thanks to its ecosystem.
Built for spatial computing with slightly better support for 2D applications, like YouTube, and Instagram, spacial audio has been enhanced on the Quest series to bring forward a more realistic feel that is both immersive and realistic.
There is also the travel mode feature which allows users to be in transit while using the Quest 3.

Meta says this is all to make mixed reality more accessible to the customer. In addition to the new Meta Quest 3S headset, Meta will also drop the price of the 512GB Meta Quest 3 from $649.99USD to $499.99.
While Meta maintains the Meta Quest 3 is the best headset in their lineup for tech enthusiasts and gamers, with four times the storage of the baseline Quest 3S which boasts 4K infinite display and pancake lenses offering a wider field of view.
Could this mean the Quest 3 had retail issues, which again has prompted the Meta team to take a look at the plan to see how they can now accommodate those who don’t have deeper pockets for a very intelligent gadget?
