#ChrisBrownLiveInJohannesburg tour review

Fireworks whizzed to the night skies above FNB stadium as Chris Brown lauded fans for their support at the end of his concert performance on Saturday night during his #ChrisBrownLiveInJohannesburg tour.

Chris Brown performed to fans this past weekend and brought what the performer is known distinctly for, impressive dance moves.

The multi-award-winning US singer and songwriter performed for just over two hours despite some weather warnings which had some supporters doubt if they would ever get a chance to see the performer.

While entry into the venue could have been a lot smoother, the performer made it worthwhile by dishing up an incredible set of choreography with his dancers.

Like any other concert we’ve been to, there are some mike, audio challenges here and there, which had us attempting to objectively critique the overall production.  Yes, there were some questionable mike challenges but Chris Brown was a professional in handling challenges.

How it started

South African DJ-ing duo Major League DJs set the tone before Chris Brown took to the stage with hit songs like iPlan and Imithandzo. The South African DJ’ing duo electrified fans as the opening act with their familiar sets right before the crowds were served their intended main course in the form of Chris Brown.

While there were notices on the stage of possible severe weather conditions predicted. A little rain had some spectators concerned, but that didn’t stop fans from braving a little rain for their one night with the US sensation.

Chris Brown opened the concert with a few familiar song choices from his 11:11 album. This was followed by other chart-toppers from Brown in the form of Ayo, Heat, Take You Down, including New Flame.

The main stage could have been better laid out but the team of talented dancers managed to carry their choreography well on a stage that could have spanned a little wider for audiences. Chris Brown and the team appear to have thought about this as a second stage was also placed which Brown was hoisted to in harness. Brown was hoisted in the air and moved around the FNB stadium for audiences to get a closer look, which had crowds out of their seats in excitement.

Brown was later joined by Nigerian singer Lojay who co-performed Monalisa and Sensatinal.

“I haven’t been here in a long time, I have been rocking for two and a half hours..you guys are a vibe. I appreciate that. I have been waiting my whole life for this kind of moment, so let’s end it with a bang.” said the singer has he lauded audience support.

This was followed by his finale song which was Forever which was the queue for an array of stunning firework displays into the the night sky.
